1. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text records stored by a browser. Local storage is a similar browser feature. Embedded scripts, pixels, and software-development tools can also recognize a browser or device. IslandTravelAtlas separates these technologies into necessary, analytics, and partner/marketing categories.

2. Technologies used by IslandTravelAtlas

3. Affiliate links

Ordinary affiliate links do not need to set a cookie on IslandTravelAtlas merely to appear. When you choose to click one, you leave this site. The affiliate network or merchant may then use referral parameters, cookies, or similar technologies under its own policy so it can attribute a booking. Rejecting IslandTravelAtlas's optional technologies does not control cookies on a third-party site you intentionally visit.

4. Your choices

Optional categories are off until selected. Rejecting non-essential technologies is as easy as accepting them.

You may also use browser controls to delete or block cookies. Blocking all storage may cause the consent banner to reappear because the site cannot remember your selection.

5. Global Privacy Control

If the browser sends a supported Global Privacy Control signal, IslandTravelAtlas treats it as an opt-out of sale/sharing and keeps the partner/marketing category disabled. Analytics remains subject to the separate consent choice.

6. Changes

This table will be updated before materially different cookies or tracking technologies are introduced.

Google Analytics cookies

Name Purpose Provider Configured duration Consent
_ga Distinguishes browser instances for audience measurement. Google Analytics Up to approximately 13 months Analytics consent required
_ga_<measurement-id> Persists session state for the GA4 data stream. Google Analytics Up to approximately 13 months Analytics consent required

These cookies are not created unless analytics consent is granted. The default Google cookie duration has been reduced by the site configuration to approximately 13 months. Browser restrictions may shorten the actual duration.
