1. Choose a route that can survive a schedule change

A strong first Cyclades itinerary uses a simple line rather than a web of same-day connections. One practical pattern is Athens or Piraeus staging, then Paros or Naxos, followed by Santorini. Reverse the direction when the live ferry and flight options work better. The sequence matters less than avoiding backtracking and protecting the final international departure.

Second central island

Days 6–7

Santorini or Mykonos departure island

Finish on the island with the most useful outbound flight or ferry connection. Protect the final night from a weather-sensitive same-day ferry plus international flight.
